Summer Encore Series: Celebrate True Freedom This Fourth of July

“Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you. Jesus Christ and the American Soldier. One died for your soul; the other for your freedom.” This quote hangs outside the Samaritan’s Lodge in Alaska where my family and I are serving with Samaritan’s Purse this month with Operation Heal Our Patriots.

The Fourth of July reminds me of the importance of our nation’s freedoms. Today kicks off the “Summer Encore Series” on Fearless, where I share some of your favorite past episodes, with an old, but timely message about finding true freedom—the freedom that only Jesus can provide.

We are so thankful to all those military veterans that we will meet this summer and for all those that have served and continue to serve our great nation. I pray that this episode of Fearless will encourage you to find true freedom this summer!

Today kicks off a new season of Fearless – a season filled with the good, the bad, and the ugly of issues we are facing in the world. This summer we have seen so many crazy things happen from the Olympics and assassination attempt of former President Trump to the economic crisis and in the U.S. and wars overseas. With chaos all around us, how should Christians respond? I’ve always been a fan of John Wayne and the calm he brought to scenes filled with confusion and panic. One of his famous quotes was, "My hope and prayer is that everyone know and love our country for what she really is and what she stands for." It reminds me of another quote from my grandfather, Billy Graham, who said, “the secret strength of a nation is found in the faith that abides in the hearts and homes of the country.” My prayer is that this episode of the #FearlessPodcast helps you remember what’s important in these chaotic days. As Israel braces for a likely imminent attack by Iran and its allies, it’s important to know what’s going on in Israel and how the people that live there are affected by this ongoing conflict.
