Hark the Herald Angels Sing

November 27, 2022 • Pastor Rob Thompson • Luke

On a walk to church on Christmas day, while hearing the London church bells ringing and reflecting upon the great angelic pronouncement found in Luke 2:8-14, Charles Wesley wrote his “Hymn for Christmas Day” poem. Originally published in 1739, with lyrics later edited by George Whitefield and then later set to new music by composer Felix Mendelssohn, this hymn is clearly one of our classics. Let’s consider the words that inspired Wesley…  good news, great joy, for all the people.

What Map Are You Using?

November 13, 2022 • Norm Goos

What roadmap are you using for your life?  Are you using God’s roadmap – the Bible?  Or are you using the opinions of your friends, relatives, acquaintances and neighbors?  In other words, are you adapting to God’s cultural norms or are you adapting to the world’s cultural norms, which are actually Satan’s cultural norms?  God’s way is entered through a narrow gate and the world’s way is entered through a wide gate.  Each lead to a particular end destination.  If you’ve been heading the wrong way, what’s preventing you from turning around and choosing the right way?

Some teachers were attempting to make this good news a little more restrictive and controlled. Paul was having none of that nonsense! Galatians is a call to live life with joy and freedom in Christ!
