YeHoVaH’s Laws are Commandments of compassion that addressed various aspects and the conduct of community life for the nation maintaining justice, assuring that lawbreakers were punished and that those obedient to His Law prospered. In this portion of Deuteronomy, YeHoVaH gives Instructions for atoning for unsolved murder and marrying foreign women captured in war. Further Instructions are given for dealing with the firstborn sons of a polygamous marriage and the stubborn and rebellious son who disobeys his parents. The Chapter concludes with rules pertaining to death by hanging.
