Since fearing God means hating evil, pride, arrogance, the way of evil and perverted speech, do you fear God? Proverbs 1:7 says that the fear of God is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with the American pastors network and another Stand in the gap Minute. According to Proverbs 1: 29, those who choose not to fear God are marked by their hate of truth and knowledge. They are despisers of what is good, therefore God says they will eat of their own fruit, and be filled with the consequences of their own sinful choices. But God makes it clear that he has offered a way of hope and freedom and it starts with fearing Him. Proverbs says that if we cry after knowledge, and seek understanding in the fear of God we will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. Hebrews 10:35 and 36 teach, “Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.” Those who wait do so with confidence, not cowardice. When we serve with endurance, we can anticipate the fulfillment of God’s promise. We have eternal life, community with other believers, and even heavenly rewards. Transcript: Why has God left us in this world as believers? It’s because He has a plan for us, one that can impact all eternity. Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. If our only purpose in life was to believe in Jesus, there would be no reason for us to remain after our salvation. So why has Christ yet to return? 1 Peter 3:15 teaches we are to, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that you have.” Our primary mission in this life is the Great Commission, making disciples of all nations. We are to witness while we wait for Christ’s coming. We cannot give up or back down. Instead, we must be bold in proclaiming His salvation. Transcript: When you faced a big test at school when you were younger, your success depended on preparing for it. As the saying goes, failing to prepare is preparing to fail. How does this apply to our spiritual lives? Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with another Stand in the Gap Minute. Scripture calls us in Matthew 24:42 to “keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” Keeping watch, however, is an active command. We don’t sit around and do nothing. Instead, we are to be about our Father’s business. In a time when many are giving up in despair, believers are challenged to live for the Lord and to share His message of hope with all who will listen. Don’t fail to plan.
