Today, we conclude this week’s focus on Truth. In Joshua 24:15, Joshua challenged the people by saying, ‘if you’ve got a problem serving Jehovah God, then be honest enough to state who you will serve.” Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer, with the American Pastors Network and another Stand in the Gap Minute. Serving God requires purposeful choices with a life that proves it! While most Americans say they’re Christians, their lives don’t prove it -and our culture unfortunately reflects it – salt-less salt, little light, no morally prevailing influence. It’s our lives -not our words that matter. The time has come to reject idle speech, and hearts that worship other gods. Holy living, a compelling Christian testimony, and embracing Truth with no other gods before us is a choice. May we like Joshua declare, “but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD!” Will you join with us at Stand in the Gap Radio and TV and choose to serve the Lord of Truth?

Transcript: In just a couple days, we’ll celebrate Mother’s Day and I trust you’ll do it whether you’re able to physically be with your mother or not. As children, let’s honor our moms by thanking God for them. As for moms you can honor God on your day by becoming more like the Prov. 31 woman: virtuous, excellent, trustworthy, responsible and disciplined, capable administrator, investor savvy, confident, compassionate, plans ahead, makes your husband look. The result? Your children will arise and call you blessed, and your husband will praise you. God’s plan for the home, the father, mother and children works the best when we do it. This Mother’s Day, let’s celebrate, honor, and re-commit ourselves to God’s plan for our moms, families and children. Honoring, obeying, and respecting our mothers and fathers is so important to God that He connects this commandment with a promise of long life. The position of father and mother is sacred. Mom? Grandmother? Are you teaching your children to fear God and obey Him as you train them, as you live as wife and mother? Are you setting the kind of example that’s worthy of God’s commendation and respect from your children? I pray that this Mother’s Day all of us as children, dads and moms commit to God’s plan for family, thank Him for it and ask of him, Lord, how am I doing? Mother’s Day Series: To Honor is to Obey

Transcript: During this week preceding Mother’s Day, it’s good to think about our moms and give them due honor. What does God say about honoring our parents? Hello, I’m Sam Rohrer with the American Pastors Network and another Stand in the Gap Minute. Since God designed the idea of family as 1 man and 1 woman in devotion to each other and if blessed of God with children, we should honor our moms in a special way if they’ve done well in raising us to fear God and walk in His steps. The 5th Commandment says to honor our fathers and mothers. But honoring is more than being thankful. To honor includes obeying them as God’s stewards over us and submitting ourselves to their direction as we would to God. When done well, the example of children obeying their parents, moms instructing their children in the ways of God are powerful.
