Part 2, Week 2

Invest Like it Matters

January 14, 2024 • Pastor Jason Miller • 2 Timothy 1:1–14

KEY SCRIPTURE

2 Timothy 1:1-10, 13-14

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by God’s will, for the sake of the promise of life in Christ Jesus:

2 To Timothy, my dearly loved son.

Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

3 I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience as my ancestors did, when I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day. 4 Remembering your tears, I long to see you so that I may be filled with joy. 5 I recall your sincere faith that first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and now, I am convinced, is in you also.

6 Therefore, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God that is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.

8 So don’t be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, or of me his prisoner. Instead, share in suffering for the gospel, relying on the power of God. 9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began. 10 This has now been made evident through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who has abolished death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

13 Hold on to the pattern of sound teaching that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 14 Guard the good deposit through the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

PRAYER

King Jesus thank you the gift of my salvation, for saving me, not by anything I’ve done but by everything you did for me.

Holy Spirit, fan into flame a passion for Jesus, for your mission and for your Word.

Thank you for the gospel, the good news that is set me free from sin and death. Speak through your word, soften my heart where it is hard and help me live in your Spirit’s power and boldness in my life and in this church.

In Jesus name

Amen!

Part 2, Week 6

February 11, 2024 • Pastor Jason Miller • Ephesians 2:19–22, Romans 12:3–8

KEY SCRIPTURE https://www.bible.com/bible/111/eph.2.19-22 19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. https://www.bible.com/bible/111/rom.12.3-8 3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. PRAYER Father, I praise you because you are faithful even when I am not. Holy Spirit, speak to me this morning, I want to listen. Thank you for my church family. Help me to love my church like you do! Just as I am not perfect, neither is your church. Where I need to show grace, help me. Where I need to forgive, help me. Where I need to step up, help me. Holy Spirit, help us to be a church set apart for Jesus! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Part 2, Week 5

February 4, 2024 • Pastor Jason Miller • 1 Corinthians 9:19–23

KEY SCRIPTURE https://www.bible.com/bible/111/1co.9.19-23 (The Message) Even though I am free of the demands and expectations of everyone, I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide range of people: religious, nonreligious, meticulous moralists, loose-living immoralists, the defeated, the demoralized—whoever. I didn’t take on their way of life. I kept my bearings in Christ—but I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view. I’ve become just about every sort of servant there is in my attempts to lead those I meet into a God-saved life. I did all this because of the Message. I didn’t just want to talk about it; I wanted to be in on it! PRAYER Father, Do what you need to do in me so that you can do what you need to do through me. Holy Spirit, help me to become more like my King - King Jesus! Where there is fear, help me trust; where there is anger, help me to forgive; where there is doubt, help my unbelief. Let Your word find a home in my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Part 2, Week 4

January 28, 2024 • Megan Dennis • Matthew 11:28–30

KEY SCRIPTURE https://www.bible.com/bible/111/mat.11.28-30 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” PRAYER Jesus, I know life can be tiresome. Does life have to be this hard? Teach me to rest like you did. Bring a refreshing wave of rest upon me. Holy Spirit, search me and know me. Bring restoration to my life.
