Heaven, Hell & Everything In Between // Week 2

Revelation 21:1-5

1 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” 5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Prayer

Father, thank you that every good and perfect gift comes from you.

Holy Spirit, help me to hunger and thirst for God’s Kingdom in my life.

I reject the lies of Satan who wants me to believe this world is all there is. I set my hope, affection and attention on Jesus and his vision for the world and for my life.

In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, amen!

Judgement Day

This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years. 11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. Prayer Father, thank you for this moment. Thank you for the breath in my lungs. Thank you for the time you have blessed me with. I confess that I have not always kept You at the center of my life. Holy Spirit, reveal the areas of my life that I have not surrendered to King Jesus. Strengthen my faith to help me live my life for King Jesus, every day. Thank you for the forgiveness that comes through my faith in Jesus. In the mighty and powerful name of Jesus I pray Amen

They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” Prayer Father, You are my provider and protector. Every good and perfect gift comes from You. Help me to place all of my worries and anxieties into your hands. Holy Spirit shed light into the areas where I have believed the lies of the devil, because I want to be free in Christ. Thank you for the ways you have blessed me even when I don’t understand or see it. This morning I open the eyes of my heart, give me ears to hear and may your Word and Spirit encourage, strengthen and empower me. In the powerful and mighty name of Jesus, Amen!

What is Hell like?

Prayer Father, I thank you because you have provided a way to not just go to hHeaven, but to be free from the power of Hell in my life today through faith in your son, Jesus! I know the Enemy does not want me to hear today’s message. So, I reject the lies of the Devil. Holy Spirit, help me fix my attention and affection on Jesus this morning. Reveal the ways in my life that are not lining up with Your will and help me to live my life for Jesus! In the powerful name of King Jesus, Amen!
