In the Know

May 12, 2024 • Rob Mikesic • Numbers 22:1–6

In Numbers 22, the Israelites are encamped outside of Moab. Balak, the Moabite King, is faced with a decision…what to do? He had knowledge of the Hebrews. Balak failure to use all the information and seek more led to eternal implications for him and his people. We too are faced with much information and knowledge of Jesus. Jesus asks his disciples, “Who do you say I am?” How this question is handled has eternal implications for us as well.

Abide - John 15 pt.1

April 21, 2024 • Pastor Scott • John 15:1–11

In John 15, Jesus emphasizes the importance of abiding in Him as the key to a fruitful life. He uses the metaphor of a vine and branches to illustrate this deep spiritual truth. Just as branches remain connected to the vine to receive nourishment and bear fruit, believers are called to abide in Jesus, drawing strength, wisdom, and life from Him. Jesus assures His followers that by abiding in Him, they will experience His love, joy, and peace in abundance. This command to abide in Him challenges believers to cultivate a close, ongoing relationship with Jesus, relying on His presence and power for every aspect of life.

Promises - John 14 pt.3

April 14, 2024 • Pastor Scott • John 14:12–31

Too many times, when our hearts and minds are troubled, instead of looking to Jesus and trusting in His promises, we look to ourselves and trust in our own abilities, reasoning, and understanding. And when we don’t find peace, comfort, or encouragement, we wonder what’s wrong. What’s wrong is that we are looking at and trusting in the wrong things. We should constantly celebrate, rejoice in, and remind ourselves of the promises of God to us in Christ. For the promises of God, found in Scripture, are an anchor of hope and assurance in the midst of life's uncertainties.

Our Triune God - John 14 pt.2

April 7, 2024 • Pastor Scott • John 14:7–17

The doctrine of the Trinity has been and continues to be a fundamental doctrine of the Church. It has weathered an onset of attacks from the past to the present and still stands strong because the truth of God will always endure! As believers who hold to a high view of scripture, it is important that we think correctly and biblically about this essential doctrine.

Easter 2024: The Answer for Troubled Hearts - John 14 pt.1

March 31, 2024 • Pastor Scott • John 14:1–6

In a world filled with depression, stress, anxiety, restlessness, and countless worries, Jesus offers us a peace and power that provides a change in our perspective, and a confidence that enable us to have untroubled hearts in a troubled world.

Peter's Lesson - John 13 pt.4

March 24, 2024 • Pastor Scott • John 13:36–38

Peter’s lesson is a lesson for all of us – salvation and faithfulness to Christ are not found in the strength of our flesh, the determination of our will, or the sincerity of our desire; rather, they are found in repentance and faith, and in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Love One Another - John 13 pt.3

March 17, 2024 • Pastor Scott • John 13:31–35

Jesus commands us to 'love one another' as He has loved us. By this, Jesus becomes both the standard and example of love for us. This is important for us today, as followers of Jesus, because our culture is actively working to redefine love in its own image rather than in the image of Christ. We must not separate Jesus and His cross from our understanding of what love is and what it should look like.

The Betrayer - John 13 pt.2

March 3, 2024 • Pastor Scott • John 13:18–30

Judas Iscariot, one of Jesus's disciples infamous for his betrayal of Jesus, is a character that evokes a multitude of emotions and thoughts for us as Christians... How could he? Why would he? What does it mean? And so on. We may never be able to answer all of these questions, but we can still learn from Judas and his story. Here in John 13, we examine the lesson, the warning, and the reflection regarding Judas, the betrayer.

The Humble Servant - John 13 pt.1

February 18, 2024 • Pastor Scott • John 13:1–17

Humility is a character trait that is rarely seen in our culture anymore. However, it is a trait praised by Christ and modeled for us by Christ. Jesus is the Humble Servant who came to give His life as the sacrifice for our sins, and as followers of Christ, we are called to follow His example and humbly serve others.

Building Strong Faith 2024 - Engage

February 11, 2024 • Pastor Scott • Matthew 5:13–16, Acts 2:42–47

In the book of Genesis, after God made Adam, He said, "It is not good for man to be alone." Now that wasn't true just for Adam; it is also true for us today. As Christians, the Bible calls us to live in authentic community with other Christians. We are not meant to live isolated lives as lone wolves; rather, as the people of God in this world, we are to be salt and light to all those around us.

Building Strong faith 2024 - Deeper Intimacy

February 4, 2024 • Pastor Scott • Psalm 15

It is great news to know that God desires a good relationship with us. However, like with any relationship, we will have to put in some work if we want it to be great. We must desire a closer relationship with God and we must guard our hearts against loving the blessings of God more than God himself.

Building Strong faith 2024 - Exalt pt. 1 Worship

January 21, 2024 • Pastor Scott • Psalm 95

Worshiping God is a fundamental and vital aspect of a Christian's journey toward spiritual growth and a deeper relationship with God. While singing and music are indeed good, biblical expressions of worship, we must realize that genuine worship is so much more than just showing up one day a week to sing a couple of songs and listen to a sermon. True worship is supposed to encompass all of one’s life, wherein we seek to honor God in every area of our lives.

Building Strong Faith 2024 - Equip

January 14, 2024 • Pastor Scott • Psalm 119:1–8

Everyone wants a good life. Everyone wants a blessed life, and there are many thoughts and opinions on what it takes or what is needed to experience a blessed life. But the Bible teaches us that a blissful and blessed life comes from learning how to order our lives according to God's Word.
