9 - On Wealth, Mark 10:17-31

November 18, 2018 • Josh Lindstrom

A young man thinks that his acts of righteousness should secure him eternal life. Jesus reveals the duplicity of the young man’s heart by instructing him to sell all that he has. Regrettably, “he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.” (Mark 10:22b). We must never allow the accumulation of earthly wealth to supersede our love for God.

1. The question of eternal life (vs. 17-20)
2. The radical call of discipleship (vs. 21-22)
3. The stumbling block of wealth (vs. 23-27)
4. The promise of the kingdom (vs. 28-31)
