There’s no shortage of opinion and perspective on leadership in America. But when we go to the Bible we find that God's answer to the question, "What is Leadership?" has a different starting place. Here’s where the Word places the starting line: Jesus isn’t looking for leaders—He’s looking for followers. To say this is not to devalue or undervalue the critical importance of leaders and leadership. But it is to state a gospel truth rather plainly: more than anything else, Jesus is looking for followers. And the Biblical principle is absolute: only followers are fit to lead.
