We all have innate wants and desires, but our choices direct them for better or worse. We can choose to savor those things that we know are good for us, even if they aren't as pleasurable in the moment. In the words of scripture, we can set our affection on things above. Colossians 3:1,2 It is a discipline that will pay big dividends.

Pain & Pleasure

We are wired to move toward pleasure and away from pain. We parent our souls well when we give ourselves reward for doing well and a negative consequence when we behave badly. It takes effort and planning, but if our brains and bodies are trained properly, they will serve us well.

The Path

The Power of a Promise
