I. Fear God

“But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, 16for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:16

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7

“It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:31

II. Obey God’s Commands.

“You are my friends if you do what I command.” John 15:14

“This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome.” 1 John 5:2-3

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28

The Joy Of Life

March 26, 2017 • Pastor Allen Bonnell

“The Lord is merciful and will not reject us forever. He may bring us sorrow, but his love for us is sure and strong. He takes no pleasure in causing us grief or pain.” Lamentations 3:31-33 1. Life happens in the present. “Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly! In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper.” Proverbs 23:31-32 “ Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”—   yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” James 4:13-14 2. Take delight in your family. “May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth.” Proverbs 5:18 3. Be the best you, you can be. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24

Psalm 139:23-24 - Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (NIV) 2.Confess my sins. 1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (NIV) 3.Practice the truth. 1 John 1:6 - “So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.” (NLT)
