I. Obey God’s Commands. “You are my friends if you do what I command.” John 15:14 “This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome.” 1 John 5:2-3 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28
The Joy Of Life

Life happens in the present. “Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly! In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper.” Proverbs 23:31-32 “ Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” James 4:13-14 2. Take delight in your family. “May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth.” Proverbs 5:18 3. Be the best you, you can be. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24

Who may stand in his holy place? 4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god (NIV) SO HOW DO I PRACTICE MY POSITION IN CHIRST? 1.Ask God to search my heart. Psalm 139:23-24 - Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (NIV) 2.Confess my sins. 1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (NIV) 3.Practice the truth. 1 John 1:6 - “So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.” (NLT)

Beauty From Ashes Ecclesiastes 3 “We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace.” 1 Chronicles 29:15NLT 1. Enjoy every season. “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.” Proverbs 16:9 Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.” Proverbs 16:31ESV 2. Every season prepares us for eternity. “ For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” 1 Corinthians 13:12 “O proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” Isaiah 61:2-3 3. I Can't Get No Satisfaction

Everything a part from God is meaningless. Everything with God is meaningful. 1. Pleasure is vexation. “All King Solomon's goblets were gold, and all the household articles in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. Nothing was made of silver, because silver was considered of little value in Solomon's days.” 1 Kings 10:21 “He built the throne hall, the Hall of Justice, where he was to judge, and he covered it with cedar from floor to ceiling.” 1 Kings 7:7 2. Wisdom is vain. “Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7 3. Work is void. 4. Riches vanish. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:12b-13 Joy is found not is indulging in all that flesh desires; instead, joy is given by God to the man who pleases Him.
