Anyone who spends too much time reading or listening to the news or talk shows can come up with plenty of reasons to be unhappy, sorrowful, and discouraged. The world is not headed a good direction and won’t be fixed until the Second Advent – the Return of the Lord Jesus Christ. That’s why Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit – so that we could have joy no matter the challenge before us. The Spirit-filled believer is not blind to the current realities but focused on the ultimate outcomes.
