Global Worker of the Week

Mark and Kim Gardner

April 21, 2024

Mark and Kim have been Assemblies of God World Missionaries since 1995. They served 7 years in Angola before moving to Namibia in 2007. They served in Children’s Ministry development in Africa until 2018. In 2018, they accepted reassignment, joining a team the AGWM developed to minister in Melanesia and Polynesia. Mark and Kim are currently missionaries to the children of Fiji. They also partner with the Fijian Assemblies of God. Fiji is a fantastic hub for reaching the many Polynesian islands. The Gardners live in a farming community in Votua Levu, on the Island of Viti Levu. They have chosen to embed themselves in a neighborhood where they are surrounded by Hindu neighbors.

The Gardner’s definition of Children’s Ministry is not just ministering to children, but includes the intentional involvement of children in ministry. They provide Ministry Platforms for children so that they will be trained and ready to minister to all! The emphasis of their ministry has been on winning children and youth to Christ and on training churches to do that as well. The Gardner’s vision is to “Bring kids into an encounter with the Holy Spirit so that they can know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and being thus empowered, can minister to others”.

From Mark and Kim:

Our next major outreach is in May where we plan to go to the island of Vanua Levu, to the city of Savusavu to do a Children's Ministry Conference and introduce the island to Living Fire Kids Camps. You can go on to our Youtube site and see some of the music that we are putting together for our Fijian kids camps. These are camps that focus on children being born again, filled with the Holy Spirit, and equipped for ministry.

It would really be transforming for these island of the Pacific for churches to embrace that kids can be born again and filled with the Spirit. Also very impacting for kids to be equipped to go into their schools and evangelize their muslim and hindu friends.

The Lord knows what is at stake here, but so does the enemy. Please keep this in prayer. We've been working on these Living Fire Kids Camps for 2 years now to put together a kit that works here in the islands.  But unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build, and so we need the grace of God in the power of the Holy Spirit to make Living Fire Kids Camp a reality out here in the Pacific.

Please pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit which would result in people in Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, and the other islands being delivered from false religion, addictions, and a form of Christianity that is abundant in rules and form, but lacking power.

Thanks for praying!

Mark
