Missionaries of the Week
June 4, 2023
Brad and Shelly have been working in missions since 2004 in El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Honduras. Prior to this year, they were not your typical missionaries, they worked with https://buildersintl.org/ and their focus had been hosting construction teams. Their mission was to provide church buildings to communities who may never be able to afford one. It gave a trained A/G pastor the tool he needed to really get going and do what God called him/her to do. With building as their calling and people as their passion, Brad and Shelly’s goal was to incorporate construction, evangelism and compassion ministries. When Brad and Shelly were with us for the 2023 Kingdom Builder’s Convention in March they told us of the upcoming change. They took their first trip to Cuba in April. They went to meet the superintendent of the Assemblies of God there and all his staff. It was short but very good. The Superintendent has a lot of projects he wants them to start right away. The projects range from big church buildings to home church works. By the end of March Brad and Shelly had all the approvals in place to make the change in ministry from Builders International to being missionaries to Cuba! So now it is official, they are full time missionaries to Cuba and are in the process of raising their monthly budget so they can start getting all those projects done in Cuba. Brad and Shelly are praying that they can partner with enough churches and friends by early next year to start bringing teams into Cuba. Please Pray for Brad and Shelly · For protection as they travel around the United States. · For God to lead them to monthly partners to raise their budget. · For good health for Brad and Shelly and their families. · For wisdom to decide which projects to help with first in Cuba. · For favor with the Cuban officials that they speak with. · For guidance. Brad and Shelly never want to get so focused on daily work that they may rush past the person God has for them to talk with today. “Thank you for your continued support prayerfully and financially. We are in this together and we believe our time is short to get the message out. Thank you for helping us fulfill the great commission.” —Brad and Shelly Foltz
Shatter the Illusion: Jason Alvarado
November 12, 2017
We were blessed with the ministry of Evangelist Jason Alvarado! Jason is an Evangelist unlike any other! His passion is simply to love God and love people by any stretch of the imagination. Much like Apostle Paul states in 1 Corinthians 9:22, "I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some," Jason has used all his talents to preach the Gospel in complete faith that lives will be touched in some way. He has developed into an amazing Worship Leader and Musician, a skillful Illusionist and an incredibly powerful Preacher and Communicator. He can speak into the hearts and lives of diverse congregations and people groups no matter what the age, ethnicity, or background. From Student Leader to Associate Minister at Mainstream Ministries, Jason has been serving Faith Assembly of God in Orlando, FL for close to 15 years, reaching more than 1,500 students on a weekly basis. He has been serving directly under Pastor Johnnie Wilson as the head of School Campus Outreach and On Staff Evangelist for Faith Assembly of God.

Dr. Tom Wespetal has served since 2001 as professor of theology and exegesis at Evangel Theological Seminary (ETS) in Kiev, Ukraine. ETS (opened in 2000) is a graduate training center for teachers and church leaders for the former Soviet republics. Tom has also traveled and taught at other institutes in Georgia, Belarus, Lithuania, Kazakstan, and at numerous locations in Ukraine and Russia. Tom has created an online master's program in Russian, which gives Russian-speaking students worldwide access to high-quality educational materials. . Tom has completed the writing of a very important book in Russian on baptism for theology students. The book, which is unlike anything available in Russian, does a thorough job of examining the many different positions on baptism from a Biblical perspective. Dr. Nancy Wespetal directs a medical evangelism outreach called Hope in Action. HIA started in 2002 when Capital Hill AG in Oklahoma City sent a medical trailer to Ukraine. Nancy outfitted the trailer with lab, ultrasound, and EKG, and recruited medical personnel and prayer counselors for the ministry. Nancy also participates in medical evangelism outreaches in Russia in connection with AGAPE ministries and through a free clinic for indigent patients in Moscow. Preaching is part of every outreach done by Hope in Action. The ministry owns a tent that can be erected for gospel services to be held. Local pastors or HIA team members share at the meetings and invite people to Christ. Each patient also has the opportunity to meet with a prayer counselor at the conclusion of their visit, where the gospel is personally explained and an invitation made. After over a year of limited ministry, the Christian Mobile Medical Team in Ukraine has begun to do regular full outreaches despite an upsurge of Covid in the last few months. Every other weekend the team is going out and providing ultrasound, mammography, optometry, blood work, dentistry, doctor's appointments, and the gospel to needy folk in the villages of Ukraine. In addition, they have raised at least half of the money for their new ministry center which already has a foundation, first floor/garage, and walls on the second floor! Please pray for God to use Tom's writings throughout the Russian-speaking world to help the church rightly divide the scriptures. Please pray for God's Spirit to be poured out during their outreaches, and for miraculous healings and salvation to take place. Please pray for all finances to be made available for their building and furnishing the ministry center. Lastly, pray for two of their Ukrainian missionaries who are battling cancer, Phillip Reed and Judi Ballweber Ruban. “Thank you so much for being willing to take the time to pray and make the effort to stay on top of our needs!” –Tom and Nancy Wespetal

Pastor Len & Susette Burdick
About Len Pastor Len was born on March 25, 1962, in upstate New York, the youngest of nine children, to a Filipina mother and American father. He committed his life to Jesus Christ at age five, and was baptized in the Holy Spirit and in water at the age of nine. In 1997, Len began ministry at First Assembly of God (now Victory Church) as worship pastor. In addition to his pastoral and musical duties, he supervised a choir recording and released a personal project, "THE PRAISE SESSIONS". He became the senior associate pastor of Victory Church in January 2007, and preached, taught, led services, crafted vision, designed ministry strategies, and generally assisted the lead pastor in all areas of church leadership. He organized and directed the Winchester Community Choir, an inter-church, inter-cultural, and inter-generational worship ministry, building relationships, coalescing over twenty-five area churches for seasonal projects, and raising funds for local charities. Len will receive his concurrent Masters/Doctorate degrees in Worship Studies and Pastoral Leadership from Summit Bible College in June 2019. Len sings and plays keyboards, guitar, bass, and drums. He is happily married to Susette, born of Cuban parents in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She is a middle school Spanish teacher, enthusiastically supports Len's ministry, has led women's ministry and Bible studies and headed a Stars group of girls. Pastor Dave & Kathy Cunsolo
"I was born and raised in Long Island, NY in a Christian family. Mom & Dad were great mentors in many, many ways. I have one sister who still lives in Long Island. We were married on November 26, 1976. We then went on to Bethel Church in Quincy, IL, and finally here to Victory Church (formerly First Assembly of God) in Winchester, VA. I first served as Children’s Pastor and Minister of Christian Education here in Winchester, then Senior Associate and Children’s Pastor (1979-2006), and then Lead Pastor (2006 – present). Our History
Our church family was established in 1928 under the leadership of Rev C. H. Anderson. Our meetings were held in a rented lodge hall on East Boscawen Street, over the old Winchester Star Building. In 1936, the congregation moved into their new building at 455 North Cameron Street and named it "Full Gospel Tabernacle." In 1963, the church purchased property on Springcrest Street (now Opequon Ave) for the construction of a new church facility and in 1965 they moved into it's new facility. In 1975, the next phase of the building facing Pleasant Valley Road was completed with a sanctuary seating capacity of 700. In 1984, a multipurpose building was erected on the corner of Opequon Ave and Hollinsworth Dr and the named "The Wigfield Family Life Center" in honor of Pastor H. L. Wigfield, who is now our Pastor Emeritus. The congregation outgrew the facilities on Pleasant Valley Road and made plans to purchase land in the Winchester area for a new worship facility. Following a long search and overcoming many hurdles, the Charles Hardy Grim Farm was purchased on Middle Rd in December 1999. In June 2003, ground was broken on this property for our new 60,000 square foot facility. In late 2004, all former facilities were sold to Mount Camel Baptist Church, and Victory Church leased the facilities for several months. In June of 2005, Victory Church moved into their new location with an 1,100 seat sanctuary, Student Ministry Center, Gymnasium, classrooms and office complex. Our rich history includes the following pastor who have selflessly served the Victory Church family and Winchester Community. Rev C. H. Anderson 1928 - 1945 Rev M. N.
