"You Lost Me"

Does God lose us? No, serious question. The second parable in the prodigal series of parables has a woman losing one of her coins. The woman represents God in that parable. I’ve often wondered quietly (and at times aloud), “Is God truly responsible for all the sin and loss in the world?” Think about it. How can an omniscient God, in good conscience, knowingly create a world of failure, stubbornness and rebellion?

The gloves are coming off for the second message in our Prodigal series, “You Lost Me.”

Prodigal. What comes to mind when you hear or read that word? Do you think of someone who is wayward? What if I told you that the word, though now synonymous with being a lost person, has nothing to do with going astray? In the Gospel of Luke, the author targets this prodigal theme—most famously with the parable of The Prodigal Son. Beginning with this week, we will begin a new series, simply entitled: Prodigal, and see how this one misused word is at the center of unlocking our hearts and future.
