Grace Teaches

"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age" (Titus 2:11, 12 NKJV).

The bible declares that grace teaches us to do what is right. We are told we must do what is right. But the scriptures tell us that the grace of God teaches us what is right. The grace of God teaches us to deny ungodliness and world- ly lusts so that we know how to live soberly, righteously and a godly life.

When we start living and walking in the grace of God, living for God becomes naturally exciting. The secret to be free from ungodliness and lust of the world is to tap into the grace of God. That means that living holy lives is not going to be in on our own strength and knowledge. God in His grace will teach us the secret to right living. Right living comes from right believing. If we believe that to live right we need to depend on the grace of God to teach and empower us, then we will also learn that what is powered by the grace of God has the empowerment of the God of grace!

Don't struggle to live holy. Learn to rest in what the Lord has done. Rest in the fact that it is not your effort that is going to bring you to godly life but the Jesus who lives in you and through you will teach you the secret to this new life in Christ.

Let us see what the Bible says about the ability to live and be holy. "Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it". (1 Thessalonians 5:23, 24 NKJV). It says God Himself sanctify you completely ( set apart or dedicated to God) . It is not us, God does it not because we are good or deserv- ing of it but because He is faithful!

"...His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, (2 Peter 1:3 NKJV). We have all we need pertaining to godliness. How? Through the knowledge of Jesus! The verse before this says Grace and peace is multiplied through the knowledge of Jesus! This shows us that when we meditate on Jesus more, grace and peace increase in our lives and through that same knowledge of Jesus godliness grows in us! Awesome! God has made it easy for us through His provision of grace and not through our struggle to be holy and right with our strength. The grace of God teaches us all things.
