Use Our Broken Hearts

God Can

September 18, 2022 • Andy Adams • Nehemiah 1

There are many reasons you could be discouraged by the state of our world today. Between divisive politics, escalating inflation, worker shortages, racial tensions, foreign wars, and environmental turmoil, you may find yourself feeling overwhelmed with grief and sadness. Add that to a cultural movement away from God, and your heart for our world may be close to shattering. What is the best way to respond in such circumstances? Is there any way to make a difference? Can anything be done? In this message, we begin our 10-week study of the book of Nehemiah. When it seems like all hope is lost and we can’t do anything about it, GOD CAN!

More from God Can

Finish What He Started

November 20, 2022 • Andy Adams • Nehemiah 12:44–47, Nehemiah 13

This week we wrap up our journey with Nehemiah. Last week we saw how he and the people renewed their covenant with God and celebrated the accomplishment of their great work with exuberant joy! But in the final chapter of Nehemiah we learn that they didn’t follow through with their commitments. What will Nehemiah do? What will God do in response? More importantly, what do we do when we make significant progress but there is still so much left undone. Join us on Sunday as we find hope even in midst of our failures and limitations.

Give us Joy

November 13, 2022 • Andy Adams • Nehemiah 10:30–39, Nehemiah 12:27–43

We are excited to celebrate baptisms on Sunday! Just as Nehemiah led the people to take vows to love and serve God, we will share in our baptismal vows. Just as Nehemiah’s people celebrated with joy, we will celebrate with joy at all God has done! Do you earnestly repent of your sin? Do you believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord? Have you made a recent commitment to Jesus? If you feel God leading you to be baptized or remember your baptism, there’s still time to contact Pastor Andy and be part of the celebration. Either way, join us for an unforgettable Sunday!

Change Our Hearts

November 6, 2022 • Andy Adams • Nehemiah 8, Nehemiah 9

When is the last time God moved you to tears? Where we pick up with Nehemiah and his people, they are now finished with the great rebuild of the wall, but God is still rebuilding them. And as God rebuilds them through the reading of His Word, the people are moved to tears. Maybe that’s happened to you during times of worship. Why does standing before God oftentimes bring tears? We will discover some of the possibilities this Sunday and more importantly learn which kinds of tears lead to a true change of heart.
