April 21, 2024 • Andy Adams • John 20:1–18

We continue our series, You Asked For It with a question relevant to everyone. Sometimes we wonder if it’s possible to have faith in the midst of unanswered questions or if one can be a Christian and still have doubts! May 19, 2024 • Andy Adams • Matthew 4:23–24

Join us at Troy Methodist Church this Sunday as we celebrate Pentecost, the day the Holy Spirit descended on the first believers giving birth to the church! We will briefly reflect on our theological understanding of the age old question, Why do bad things happen to good people, but more importantly we will spend extra time in prayer and worship as we call upon God’s Holy Spirit to meet us in our brokenness and pains from this world. Join us in prayer leading up to this Sunday as we anticipate God’s Kingdom showing up in power and healing!

How is it Okay for Women to be Pastors?

May 12, 2024 • Andy Adams • Romans 12:6–8, 1 Timothy 2:11–12

God gives the gifts of the Holy Spirit to each and every believer. But does the Bible limit the exercise of those gifts depending on whether you are a man or a woman? Our Methodist doctrine affirms that women can serve in ordained roles that include preaching to, teaching, and leading both men and women. Yet not every faith tradition believes the same. Each side uses Scripture as their basis. Which is right? Join us this Mother’s Day Sunday as we explore the biblical evidence together and celebrate the vital roles women play in the church today!

Why does God Sanction Killing in the Old Testament?

May 5, 2024 • Andy Adams • Deuteronomy 7:1–6, Deuteronomy 20:17–18, Isaiah 53:5–6, Romans 5:9

How can a God of love command and even lead his people to completely destroy others? And doesn’t this seem to justify war and other evil atrocities done in God’s name today? Join us this Sunday as we explore Israel’s role in the Old Testament and how Jesus’ death on the cross changes everything!
