Jesus reminds us with some powerful warnings and follows that up with some needed instruction on faith and what a true disciple of His looks like. At first, this sounds like some tough teaching, but for the Believer, it should be encouraging!

It's all about Jesus! This pretty much sums up this parable. We have been called to "scatter" the seed of the Gospel (which is instrumental in making disciples) but we have nothing to do with making that seed grow. The sprouting and or growing of the seed is all up to God. He tells us in this parable we scatter, He will bring about the harvest and there in lies all the assurance of faith!
