Train the Home Team - Big Kids

September 23, 2023 • Tracey Wagner

Though the goal of parenting remains the same, the manner in which we parent our children evolves as they age. We don’t have the same control over an eighteen year old that we did when they were two years old. How can we continue to invest in our children as they grow into the young men and women God has called them to be? How does our role change, and what should we prioritize as parents? Though your children are not babies  anymore, they desperately need your love, care, and even your correction at times. As parents, we must continue to maintain relationship with our children as we encourage them to walk with the Lord.

Train the Home Team - Little Kids

September 23, 2023 • Tracey Wagner

It is an awesome and (sometimes terrifying!) responsibility to be entrusted with children. How do we train them up in the Lord when they are young? What should be the goal of parenting? The Bible encourages us to walk closely with our children and to teach them the things of the Lord. Even when they are young, children have an incredible capacity to learn and understand Biblical truths. Commit to love them well and plant seeds in your young children that will bear fruit as they age.

Study the Playbook

We are constantly being inundated with messages through entertainment, social media, the news, influencers, and even everyday social settings. We quickly become flooded with mixed messages that begin to inform how we think. Instead of truth being a fixed absolute and immovable foundation, our culture views truth as a shifting concept that ought to bend and adjust depending on the situation. We commonly hear, “my truth,” and “your truth,” as though truth is up for grabs. The Bible, however, teaches that truth is knowable and dependable. We must cling tightly to it so we are not carried away by doctrinal fads or an ever changing culture.

Rest and Recover

September 23, 2023 • Ashley Law

In a culture that seems to glorify being busy, it can seem like a sign of weakness to admit that you need to take a break. Shouldn’t we just power through, say yes to everything, and rest when we’re dead? God didn’t design us for a life that is so jam packed that we don’t have space to rest. In fact, He commands us to rest. He has ordained it for a purpose. It enables us to be renewed and refreshed so that we can run our race most effectively.

Partner Up

September 23, 2023 • Randi Cecil

Marriage is arguably the most significant relationship in our lives. For better or for worse, it impacts us more than any other relationship. God designed marriage to be a miracle of two individuals becoming one flesh. How do we “run the race” of marriage well? What are we called to, and what do we do if our marriage is in distress? What can we do to protect it from the onslaught of the enemy? As we follow what we are called to in Scripture, we have hope that our marriages can grow into the blessing God intends them to be.

Make the Cut

September 23, 2023 • Paula Thorp

In a world that is increasingly busy and chaotic we can easily lose our focus. Priorities we once carefully maintained fall by the wayside as we struggle to keep up with the pace. Little by little we begin to drift away from a pure devotion to Christ. Time with the Lord is harder to come by, prayer is hurried and distracted, and pretty soon we find ourselves walking through a spiritually dry wasteland. The Bible calls us to remember our first love and to rekindle the flame that once burned brightly so that we don’t become lukewarm and ineffective.

Get Your Head In The Game

September 23, 2023 • Angela McAlister

Our minds are incredibly powerful, and the things we meditate on inform our actions. What dominates your thought life? Is it constant comparison with other people and unrealistic expectations of yourself? Or, are you consumed with guilt and shame over past mistakes? If we are not guarded, our minds can easily give way to anxiety, fear, depression. Instead of walking in the freedom Christ purchased for us at the cross, we can begin to feel overwhelmed and trapped. We are called instead to take every thought captive so that we can walk in victory, rather than defeat.

Get Off The Sidelines

September 23, 2023 • Lisa Deering

Each of us is called to run a unique race, but sometimes instead of running with purpose, we find we’ve quit running altogether. Trials overtake us and we become weary. Someone hurts us and the offense causes us to drift  away from an area that was once fruitful. We feel the Lord call us to a task, but obedience seems too costly, so we quit. However, you have been called for a greater purpose, and you have a race to run. It’s time to get off the  sidelines and get in the game!
