James Week 9

James 4:1-5

November 5, 2019 • Erin Morris

What is the reason for the conflict we have between each other? How do the passions of our hearts drive us to disunity and other sins?

James explains that all sin starts with a desire in our hearts that we cultivate and allow to grow into action. He reminds us that we cannot serve both the world and its desires and also serve the Lord. We must make a choice.

James Week 11

What is the difference between gaining wise counsel and gossiping or slander?  When do we cross over from questioning something into judging each other?  As believers in Jesus Christ we ought to be careful with the words we speak about others.  God is the only righteous Judge.  We also must be careful to consult Him as we make plans for our lives as we do not know what each day holds.  James challenges us to live each day deliberately, remembering that God calls us to specific things each day.  Grab your Bible and join us as we finish chapter 4.
