Next Steps: Serving

February 26, 2023 • Garry Firth • Isaiah 1:16–17, Mark 10:42–45, John 19:26–27, Luke 23:34–43, 1 Corinthians 11:23–26

Here are some questions to help you process this message and apply it to your life: 1. How long have you attended TMP? What made you decide to come to a service? 2. What thoughts go through your head when you hear the word serving?  3. Read Mark 10:45. What do these words have to say about God and what he is like? 4. What was your biggest takeaway from today’s message or the entire series? 5. Take some time as you pray this week to meditate on Jesus' words about service.  Ask God to show you opportunities where you might serve by taking care of your family members, asking for or extending forgiveness to someone, or offering a gift of life.

Next Steps: Baptism

February 19, 2023 • Russ Smith • 1 Corinthians 15:3–4, Colossians 2:12, Matthew 3:13–15, Romans 6:4, Matthew 28:18–20

Here are some questions to help you process this message and apply it to your life: 1. Russ told stories about taking his next steps to becoming a musician. What significant steps have you taken in your life to get where you are today? (examples: going to school, a specific event that changed the direction of your life, meeting someone) 2. Do you have any questions about puberty and the birds and the bees? (Just kidding. But if you’re having coffee with someone, you might as well ask them.) 3. Baptism is an illustration of Jesus’ promise to create new life in me through his death and resurrection. Have you been baptized? If yes, what was your experience getting baptized like? If no, what’s holding you back from getting baptized? 4. What step are you at in your journey with God? And what could the next step look like? 5. What was your biggest takeaway from this message on baptism?

Next Steps: First Step

February 12, 2023 • Garry Firth • Romans 10:9, Matthew 11:28–30, John 14:27, John 20:24–27, Mark 8:22–25

Here are some questions to help you process this message and apply it to your life: 1. What is your favourite Indiana Jones movie? Do you have a time when you stepped out in faith? 2. Why do you think there are so many different opinions on who Jesus is? What are some of the ideas you've heard about who Jesus is? Read John 20:24-25 3. What does Jesus’ reply to Thomas show you about the heart Jesus has for each of us as we seek to decide who he really is? Read Mark 8:22-25 4. In this encounter, we see that Jesus took time to heal the blind man, and it took time for his sight to fully return. How has your view of Jesus changed as you’ve gotten to know him better? 5. Who do you say Jesus is? Why?

Next Steps: Just Take One

February 5, 2023 • Garry Firth • Jonah 1:1–3, Jonah 3:1–3, Jonah 3:5

Here are some questions to help you process this message and apply it to your life: 1. What's the craziest thing you've ever done? (bungee jumping, skydiving, etc) 2. Think about a time when you had an opportunity to take a step into the ‘great wide open’ but you didn’t. What stopped you from taking it? 3. What is one thing you would like to change in your life? What is stopping you from taking the steps necessary to make that change happen? 4. What was your biggest take away or what stood out to you the most in this week’s message? 5. Jonah chose to say no to God and almost missed out on the opportunity to see God at work in his life as he preached to the people of Nineveh. (Jonah 3:1-5) What step do you sense God is asking you to take? Will you take it? Why/why not?
