2. Garry mentioned that the way we think, dictates the way we live, which dictates the way we spend our time. In what ways has that shown up in your life?

3. Read Romans 8:15-16. What does it mean to you to be ‘adopted’ by God into his family?

4. Read Luke 15:11-32. In what ways do you relate to the brothers in this story?

5. What would your life look like if you were truly living as a free child of God?

Commit to memorising Romans 8:15-16 this week and share it with your group or a friend next week.

Waste Management: Wasted Pain

1. What kinds of questions do you find yourself asking when life gets painful? 2. We heard how people with leprosy can’t feel pain. What do you think life would be like without pain? What are some advantages to experiencing pain? 3. Have you ever wondered how God could be good and not make your pain stop? 4. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, and are called according to his purposes. (Romans 8:28) We heard how God renews, upcycles and restores us through our pain. How have you experienced good in your pain? 5. Read Hebrews 5:7-10. Jesus is able to identify with our pain because he experienced it himself. How does that encourage you and show you what God is like despite the pain we experience in life? Commit to memorising Romans 12:2.

Waste Management: Wasted Talent

1. Who do you think of when you think of wasted talent? (actor/actress, athlete, acquaintance, friend, etc.) What do you think makes wasted talent or potential so devastating? 2. Read Matthew 25:14-30. What are your initial reactions to this story Jesus told? 3. What is the fundamental problem with the third servant’s attitude toward the master? What’s your view of God? Where did that view come from? In what ways does your view of God impact your relationship with him? 4. What do you know God has entrusted to you? How are you doing with managing that? 5. Read Philippians 1:20-21. Paul wants to live his life in such a way so that if people looked at him they would see Jesus because Jesus was the most important thing to him. If a stranger observed your life for one month what would they conclude is most important to you? Who would they conclude is most important to you?
