March 24, 2024 • Jeff Maness • 1 Corinthians 11:23–31, Genesis 3:21, Hebrews 9:22, Genesis 3:15, Revelation 19:7–9

Communion is a ritual we partake of at least once during each sermon series at The Harbor. Jesus instituted communion at The Last Supper, and told us to "Do this in remembrance of me." We know it has great meaning, but let's go deeper into what it's really all about and see how God orchestrated even the tiniest details to point to the Messiah as far back as the beginning.

Worship is a Lifestyle

March 17, 2024 • Chris Taylor • Matthew 6:25–33, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Luke 14:25, Romans 12:1, Psalm 66:16–20

We were created to worship God, and not just on Sundays or in those thankful moments when we recognize His hand on our lives. We were created to worship as a lifestyle, every day and in many ways. This does not necessarily mean we walk around singing worship songs all day. Worship means much more than that. Watch this message, "Worship is a Lifestyle" by Director of Worship Arts Chris Taylor to see what this lifestyle of worship that the Bible describes is all about.

March 10, 2024 • Ryan Akers • Philippians 2:3–11, John 8:31, 1 Corinthians 15:10, Luke 18:9–14, Mark 9:35–37

Humility. It is impossible to describe the person of Jesus without using that word. And if the church is meant to be a reflection of Christ, then humility is something we ought to take really seriously and challenge ourselves on as a community. How can a life of service and sacrifice be more fulfilling than a life of power, popularity, and position? Watch this message by Discipleship Pastor Ryan Akers to find out.

Our world is "Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!" all the time. We are so worried about getting ahead or falling behind. But God does not want His children to be stressed. So how do we find more hours in the day? You’ve Been Served

February 11, 2024 • Jeff Maness • 1 Peter 4:10, Ephesians 4:4–16, Acts 6:1–7, 1 Corinthians 12:4–22, Romans 12:4–13

One of our core values at The Harbor is this: "Serving Matters - Followers of Jesus should serve in areas that use their God-given gifts to strengthen and build up the Church and others." In this special service, which we have dubbed "No Show Sunday," we used an unusual method to show those that regularly serve in our church how valuable their service is to everyone who attends. It also demonstrated what church would be like if no one served. If we are to follow Jesus, we must serve the Body of Christ. Pocket Fuzz or Powerful Practice?

February 4, 2024 • Jeff Maness • Matthew 6:16, Job 23:12, John 5:39, Matthew 4:1–11

As the season of Lent approaches, many often start wondering what they should give up or sacrifice for that forty days. But lent is not about what we give up; it's about that with which we fill the void. This is the point of fasting. In this message, Senior Pastor Jeff Maness teaches that sacrificing one thing without seeking something else will always leave you short in your spirit. Watch/listen to learn what we should seek in our sacrifice. Challenge – Sacrifice something for forty days, not counting Sundays, from Wednesday, February 14, 2024, through Saturday, March 30, 2024, to seek God in the three ways described in the video. Here is a prayer guide to help you grow closer to Jesus during that time: https://bit.ly/thlpg-2024

Leaving the Shallows

January 21, 2024 • Jeff Maness • James 4:17, Luke 5:1–11

Only around 25% of the ocean floor has been mapped by high resolution technology, and only 5% of our ocean floors have been physically explored. That's pretty amazing when you realize that the oceans cover about 70% of our earth. We can see the oceans, but few have seen much more than the surface. Whether we realize it or not, our faith in Jesus is the same. We have so much that we’ve yet to discover or experience below the surface. And we can’t go from the shallows directly into the deep. We go one step at a time. The deep is not a destination you have to get to today. It’s a journey for the rest of your life. Watch this message to learn what it takes to go Into the Deep.
