Revelation Part 1
The Beginning of The End
Revelation 2:12-29
February 3, 2019 • Rick Baldwin
Dear Friend, Is compromise good or bad? It depends, doesn’t it? If my family is picking a place for dinner, it helps if we all have a spirit of compromise. On the other hand, if there is a moral principle at stake, I’ve learned the hard way that compromise can be disastrous! Revelation 2:12-29 talks about two churches facing the “compromise” question, and Jesus had much to say to them. I believe He had much to say to us this past Sunday as we looked deeply at this section of Scripture. Be sure to watch this episode of Revelation! Love, Rick
Revelation 3:1-6 - Drift Happens
February 17, 2019 • Rick Baldwin
A note from Senior Pastor Rick Baldwin: Lack of focus always results in drift. If I’m driving and lose focus, I am prone to drift out of my lane. If I lose focus on my marriage, my relationship with Marie will begin to drift. The same is true in my relationship with God. Drift happens! Sunday we looked at some Followers of Jesus that had been drifting for some time. Jesus’ words to them are urgent, grace-filled, and redemptive. You and I are prone to spiritual drift. These are words we need to hear. Love, Rick
Revelation 3:7-13 - Endurance
February 24, 2019 • Rick Baldwin
In many aspects of life, endurance matters. We need physical endurance to carry out daily tasks. We need emotional endurance to ride the inevitable highs and lows of life. We need relational endurance to stick with someone when the going gets tough. And most of all, we need spiritual endurance, which Jesus so frequently stressed (Revelation 2:26; Matthew 24:13)! But what specifically does spiritual endurance look like? And how does one practically grow that endurance? Watch and find out as we study the church in Philadelphia (Revelation 3:7-13).
Revelation 3:14-22
March 10, 2019 • Rick Baldwin
A knock at the door of your home can stir different emotions. Are you expecting a friend or is the knock unexpected? Is it daylight or after dark? Are you exhausted or energized? Are you an extrovert starving for “people time” or an introvert starving for solitude? In this message, we considered the most STUNNING knock at the door one could ever experience. If you’ve been spiritually flat, going through the motions, lukewarm about Jesus and about life in general, watch expecting a knock at the door of your life!
Revelation 4 & 5
March 17, 2019 • Rick Baldwin
This message concludes Part 1 of our study of Revelation. The seven churches we’ve studied faced difficult circumstances including persecution, suffering, moral failure, and serious spiritual drift. Maybe you are facing difficult circumstances of your own. If so, our final segment based upon chapters 4-5 will offer you great hope and encouragement! This Sunday’s service was just a bit different than most. Watch expectantly and attentively!
