Doubters Welcome

What to Do with Doubts

May 21, 2023 • Jeff Maness • Matthew 26:26–28, Psalm 94:19, Isaiah 61:1, Matthew 1:1–11, John 16:33

Everyone has doubts about Jesus from time to time. Even His cousin, John the Baptist, the one who devoted his life to preparing the way for the Messiah, had doubts. And yet even though John doubted Jesus said, “of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist." But what do we do with our doubts? How do we handle them well? In this message, Pastor Jeff Maness gives us three things we should do when we have doubts.

From Doubt to Dependence

Doubts themselves aren’t wrong, but they can easily lead us astray. Doubting God can lead us to distrust Him, to disobeying Him, and to our destruction. But if we examine those areas in our lives, our doubts can finally lead us to full dependence on God. As you watch/listen to this message, pray and ask these questions: Distrust – “What areas of my life am I struggling to trust You the most?” Disobedience – “What parts of my life have I allowed distrust to lead me astray?” Destruction – “Where in my life do You want to restore what is battered and broken?” Dependence – “No matter what my surroundings tell me, I am choosing to trust in You!”

Evil, Pain, & Suffering

April 30, 2023 • Jeff Maness • Lamentations 3:20–24, 1 John 4:10, Romans 5:8, Matthew 28:20, Hebrews 4:16

One question that many ask is, "If God is real, especially if He’s loving, why would He allow so much evil, pain, and suffering?" This may be the most common question and most common critique of the Christian faith. It is such a relevant question in life and one that Senior Pastor Jeff Maness has an answer to in his message, "Evil, Pain, & Suffering". How Can You Trust the Bible?

April 23, 2023 • Jeff Maness • 2 Timothy 3:16–17, John 3:16, Luke 24:25–27

As Christians we look to the Bible for answers. But how can we know that the Bible is trustworthy? In this message, Senior Pastor Jeff Maness shows why there is abundant evidence that we can fully trust the Bible. Unfortunately, in the 35 minutes we have for this message, we can only scratch the surface of this subject. The Existence of God

April 16, 2023 • Jeff Maness • Hebrews 11:6, John 3:16–17, Genesis 1:1, Romans 1:19–20

How can you believe in God when you can’t prove He exists? That is the Big Question in this second message of Doubters Welcome. Senior Pastor Jeff Maness challenges us to ask if there is any evidence of God or not, and if so, where does it lead? The messages in this series are about deep subjects and the short 30-35 minutes we have each Sunday only allow us to scratch the surface. Who Is Jesus?

April 9, 2023 • Jeff Maness • James 1:1, John 7:3–5, Matthew 16:21, Matthew 27:22, Matthew 28:16–17

Everyone deals with doubt. Even the most faithful followers of Jesus experience doubt at some point in their life. How can Jesus be the only way to Heaven? What if the Bible can’t be trusted? Why is there so much evil, pain, and suffering in the world? Can you really prove God exists? Those are legitimate questions that have haunted humans for centuries and still haunt many of us today. So, the question should not be if you’ll doubt, but what will you do with it when you do? According to Jesus, doubters were welcome with Him, so they are welcome with us as well. In this series, we’re going to address some of those fundamental questions that cause us to doubt, look at some doubters in the Bible, and in the end, we’ll find “Doubters Welcome.”  In this first message of the series, Senior Pastor Jeff Maness answers the question, "Who Is Jesus?" and then asks the most important question you will ever answer, and it may not be what you were expecting.
