Have mercy on me, God, because your love is faithful!
Wipe away the wrongs I have done, oh compassionate God.
Wash me and make me clean; purify me from my sin!
Because I know I have done wrong, my sin is always right in front of me.
I’ve sinned against you—you alone.
I’ve committed evil in your sight.
But purify me and I will be clean; wash me and I will be made new.
Let me hear joy and celebration again; let the broken parts of me rejoice once more.
Look away from my sins; wipe away all my guilt!
Create a clean heart for me, oh God; put a new, faithful spirit deep inside me! We ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
