4. Share Jesus with clarity and relevance.
We are made in the image of God—which means—we have communicable attributes:
• God is Omnipotent. We have aspects of power.
• God is Omniscient. We can learn and gain knowledge.
• God is Eternal. We have a beginning but will live forever.
• God is Creator. We have the capacity to create life.
• God is All-Loving. We have the capacity to love.
• God exists in Community (Trinity). We desire relationships.
• God Communicates. We can communicate to each other.
• God is Perfect. We have capacity to know right and wrong.
• God is Spirit. We have this spiritual understanding.
Building with the eternal material:
• Word and Worship (Hebrews 10:24-25)
• Acts of service (Matthew 10:42)
• Honoring God through Trials (James 1:12)
• Growing Deeper (Ephesians 4:11-16)
• Church and Family Leadership (1 Peter 5:1-4)
• Telling others about Jesus (1 Thessalonians 2:19-20)
• Living with an eternal perspective (2 Tim. 4:7-8; Rev. 22:12)

FOUR GOALS OF OUR STUDY IN 1 CORINTHIANS PROCLAMATION AND DEMONSTRATION Where did I come from? (Origin) Who am I? (Identity) Why am I here? (Meaning) How should I live? (Morality) Where am I going? (Destiny) THE CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW IS CHRISTOCENTRIC - CENTERED ON JESUS. THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS BUILT ON THE FOUNDATION OF JESUS. Spiritual maturity is measured by growth as a Christian, not years as a Christian (1 Corinthians 3:1-3a). Worshiping people is false worship (1 Corinthians 3b-9). The Christian builds on the foundation of Jesus (1 Corinthians 3:10-11).

What are the WAYS and MOTIVATIONS for a believer to keep their sin nature in check? Sin Nature – Humanity has a natural propensity/inclination to rebel against God, hence to sin. Sin nature in check WAY #1 – Prepare our minds daily through God’s Word WAY #2 – Keep our focus on Jesus and hope in His impending return My present confidence resides in my future hope WAY #3 – In every decision choose God’s objective truth over our subjective desires Post-Truth - Objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief Sin Nature in Check MOTIVATION #1 – Our Heavenly Father calls us to model His character MOTIVATION #2 – Our Heavenly Father will hold us accountable MOTIVATION #3 – Jesus shed His precious blood for us

(Destiny) Worldviews Naturalism: I am God Secularism: I will worship myself as God. Postmodernism: You’re not the boss of me! Pantheism: May the Force be with you. Pluralism: All roads lead to God. New Spirituality: Just believe in something. Moralistic Therapeutic Deism: Be happy and kind. The Christian Worldview is Christocentric—centered on Jesus. The Christian Worldview is a demonstration of the Spirit’s power (1 Cor. 2:1-5). The Spirit opens our eyes to understand the work of Jesus (1 Cor. 2:6-10). The Spirit enables us to live out the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:11-16). Proclaiming and Demonstrating the Mind of Christ: • Loving God and others (Mark 12:30-31) • Grasping and growing in God’s revealed truth (John 15:15) • Considering others before ourselves (Phil. 2:3-8)
