It's about Relationship

September 27, 2020 • Ps. Jorge Romero

This first commandment says to us that a right relationship begins with an acknowledgement of who God is (Exodus 20:2) and there must be no rivals to God’s rightful place in our lives (Exodus 20:3). Loving God completely also means that we express godly love toward others (Matthew 22:36-39).

Not Just Rules

September 20, 2020 • Ps. Jorge Romero

Any study of the Ten Commandments must begin with God. As we begin, we must not forget that the same God who gave these laws to us is the God who delivered His people from slavery. If we do for-get, we do a great disservice to God, these commandments, and to ourselves. We have all too often turned these commands into a static law code rather than a way of life in relationship with the God who gave them to us. If we don’t know anything about this law-giving God, how much value can these commandments actually have for us?
