Not Just Rules

Any study of the Ten Commandments must begin with God. As we begin, we must not forget that the same God who gave these laws to us is the God who delivered His people from slavery. If we do for-get, we do a great disservice to God, these commandments, and to ourselves. We have all too often turned these commands into a static law code rather than a way of life in relationship with the God who gave them to us. If we don’t know anything about this law-giving God, how much value can these commandments actually have for us?
