Who Killed Yeshua?
May 17, 2024 • Olivier Melnick • John 10:17–18
John 10:17-18 For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. No one takes it away from Me, but from Myself, I lay it down. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.” • It took until 1965 for the Roman Catholic Church to revise their position and admit that the Jews didn't kill Christ. The deicide accusation, (the killing of God), is not biblically accurate. Yeshua Himself clarified that He gave His own life (in His humanity) in accordance with the plan of the Father. The Jews didn't kill Christ, we all did. The death of Messiah was critical to His atonement for the sins of the world. His resurrection was also part of the plan and without it, He would just be a dead body of a false messiah, but the tomb is empty! Praise God for an empty tomb.
All You Need Is One!
May 13, 2024 • Olivier Melnick • 2 Samuel 1:25–26
2 Samuel 1:25-26 How have the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! Jonathan is slain on your high places. I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan; You have been very pleasant to me. Your love to me was more wonderful Than the love of women. • David and Jonathan had a very deep and sincere friendship like few people will experience in their lifetime. They were better than brothers and could rely on each other for anything. All believers need people in their lives that they can count on. We need friends acting as accountability partners, encouragers and even rebukers to keep us on the straight and narrow. David had Jonathan. Intimate friendships like these are very rare and should be appreciated even more. If you have such a friend in your life, let them know how much they are appreciated.
It Is That Simple!
Olivier Melnick • Luke 23:41–43
Luke 23:41-43 And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for what we have done; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he was saying, “Yeshua, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!” And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.” • One of the two thieves on the cross demonstrated that he believed that Yeshua was the Messiah. He understood his own guilt, and Yeshua's innocence. He also was offered to go to Paradise as Yeshua promised him. At that very moment, he did not have to pray a special prayer, get baptized, speak in tongues, walk down the aisle or belong to a specific church. Belief in Yeshua was all that was needed. Man has been very good at adding his own rules to the simplicity of the gospel message, but the message is simple, “believe on the Lord Yeshua, and you shall be saved.”
