Psalm 1 can be considered as the “door” to the Book of Psalms. It gives us an overview of what the whole of the Book of Psalms is all about - The Way of the Righteous & Blessedness and the Way of the Wicked & Death. We’ll see that this Psalms teaches us the key to true joy & lasting happiness.

There are so many ways that God has showed His love for us. We see His love in the things He created for us, in the Bible He's given us, and most importantly, by the gift of His only Son that He sent to die for our sin. However, this week’s sermon discusses one of the ways that we can, in turn, show our love for God. Of course, there are many ways that we can show God our love toward Him, but Psalm 100 talks about one specific way we can show love to our Lord—through our worship.

He’s struggling with understanding what he should truly be grateful for. Yet, as we work our way through this 73rd Psalm, we begin to discover (along with Asaph) what true blessing, goodness and even true wealth really is, and why we ought to be eternally grateful to God.

If there’s ever a truer statement it would be that David was close to the Lord. We see this not only when things are going well. We see this when everything has gone wrong. Psalm 63 is just that, a Psalm where David pours out his heart to God. The contrast of being in a wilderness and drawing near to God is powerful. It communicates what David values most. Let’s turn our attention to Psalm 63.
