FEB 26 - Mountains
Matthew 14:23, Luke 22:39–40, Luke 6:12, Isaiah 44:23, Isaiah 49:13
Humans are drawn to mountains! We are drawn by their height, their majesty, their grandeur, their sheer mass, and their beauty. I live in the shadow of Laurel Mountain. And so, I often seek time on the summit. I go there to hike, to ski, to bike, to sit and think, and to pray. As a kid, I grew up in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. To this day, they are my favorite mountains. What is the closest mountain, or mountains, to you? Take a morning, an afternoon, or a day to tread on the high places—to go to your mountain. Rest, recreate, relax, rejuvenate, meditate upon the meaning of mountains, spend time seeking and enjoying the Lord Almighty.
