FEB 1 - Snow

RECREATION: Skiing, Snowboarding, Hiking

Psalm 51:7, Daniel 7:9, Matthew 28:3, Revelation 1:14, Isaiah 1:18

Looking up and letting the snowflakes kiss your face and melt on your outstretched tongue is a small taste of heaven. Snow is a gift from God above that makes the drabness of winter more bearable. What kid does not enjoy a snow day? Yet, far too often we ignore the clarion call of snow—“Come play!”. Create snow angels and snowmen, build snow forts, throw snowballs, sled, ski, or skate. If you are not in the mood to play, put on those boots and just take a brisk walk. Enjoy the peacefulness of snow as it muffles sharp sounds bringing an air of quiet in its wake. The outdoors is significantly more silent and serene in the presence of snow. Snow forces us to slow down, to drive more slowly, to move more slowly, sometimes, albeit rarely, even giving us a day at home instead of work. So, slow down . . .meditate on God's wondrous creation today . . . . . and listen to the snow speak!
