Often we look at the Israelites Exodus from Egypt and all the signs and miracles and wonder, “how could they turn from God so quickly and so often?” The problem is actually very common, God had taken the people out of Egypt but their hearts lingered. It is the same problem many believers face today, a lingering heart for the passions and desires within our world. Yet to counter the Egypt that dwells with their hearts God gave Israel the Ten Commandments. Today we will look at the final three of the Ten Commandments to discover the FREEDOM it awards to those who follow them.

What is true freedom? Is it life without restraint? Or life with the right ones? This week, we dive into the sixth and seventh commandments, discovering there is so much more to the commands of “do not murder” and “do not commit adultery” These matters of the heart need to be taken seriously, and when we do so, we can live free from regret and broken relationships.

Too often we view the Ten Commandments as heavy weights that restrict us or as ancient laws that have no application in our lives today. Yet the Bible teaches us that the Ten Commandments are not irrelevant but rather HELPS us today to Love GOD and love OTHERS well. Today we will take a deeper look into the first three of the Ten Commandments to answer the question of how we are freed by them.
