The Hebrew word "me'od" is often translated as "strength" in English translations of the Bible. A literal translation of me'od is "muchness." As we end Sukkot and this wonderful fall Holy Day season, we finish our series on the Shema with the question: what does it mean to "love God with all of our muchness?" "Strength" is part 8 of "Hearing & Doing."

Soul - Sukkot Day 1

Nephesh, in Hebrew, is often translated as "soul" in English translations of the Bible going back to the King James Version in 1611. Nephesh doesn't really mean "soul" but rather literally "throat," and actually refers to our "being" in connection to our physical bodies. As we begin Sukkot we ask the question: what does it mean to "love God with all of our soul?" "Soul" is part 7 of "Hearing & Doing"
