Strength - Sukkot Day 8
October 10, 2020 • Matt Rosenberg
The Hebrew word "me'od" is often translated as "strength" in English translations of the Bible. A literal translation of me'od is "muchness." As we end Sukkot and this wonderful fall Holy Day season, we finish our series on the Shema with the question: what does it mean to "love God with all of our muchness?" "Strength" is part 8 of "Hearing & Doing."
Soul - Sukkot Day 1
October 3, 2020 • Matt Rosenberg
Nephesh, in Hebrew, is often translated as "soul" in English translations of the Bible going back to the King James Version in 1611. Nephesh doesn't really mean "soul" but rather literally "throat," and actually refers to our "being" in connection to our physical bodies. As we begin Sukkot we ask the question: what does it mean to "love God with all of our soul?" "Soul" is part 7 of "Hearing & Doing"
One - Rosh Hashanah
September 18, 2020 • Matt Rosenberg
God is One, within His oneness He is also three-in-one and one-in-three. We know it's confusing, but even the word "Echad" ("one" in Hebrew) is plural oneness. As we start this Jewish new year and celebrate Rosh Hashanah, we focus on understanding how we can be known by and know the God of Israel. "One" is part 4 of the series "Hearing & Doing."
LORD - The Name You Thought You Knew
September 12, 2020 • Matt Rosenberg
The Name of God is somewhat of a mystery to people, but God gave his Name to Moses when He through the burning bush. Over time, The Name has now developed many variations, but we know for certain that the same God who spoke to Moses showed up as a man in the person of Yeshua – and through Yeshua, you can have a relationship with the Creator of the universe. "LORD" is part 3 of the series "Hearing & Doing."

Israel has a unique calling from God to be a blessing to the nations. This calling is extended to all Jewish people whether they follow God or not, and it can be seen in science, mathematics, art, education and entertainment. The design, by God, is to use the Jewish people to bless the world by being a light for God to the world. "Israel" is part 2 of the series "Hearing & Doing."
Shema - Hearing & Doing
August 29, 2020 • Matt Rosenberg
There is no word for "obey" in ancient Hebrew. The word "Shema" is most often translated as "Hear" or "Listen" but it really means "Hearing & Doing." When we are careful to listen we do what we hear! There is so much noise in this present world but listening takes careful and intentional work. God is always speaking but can you hear Him? Watch as Rabbi Matt explains the power of the "Shema!"
