Jesus' Baptism

Matthew 3:13-17

January 5, 2020 • Rev. Adam Feichtmann

Why did Jesus have to be baptized?

John the Baptist clearly didn’t think Jesus needed to be baptized, but Jesus insisted. Why?

This Sunday is the twelfth day of Christmas and Epiphany Eve. One of the main events celebrated in the season of Epiphany is Jesus’ baptism. Thus, this Sunday we’ll take some time to study Jesus’ baptism. To best prepare for the sermon, take five minutes to read, meditate, and pray through Matthew 3:13-17. As you do, reflect on why Jesus insisted on being baptized.

I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday, concluding this Christmas season by singing our favorite carols together one final time!
