Choose Whom You Will Serve

Have you ever renewed your wedding vows or been to a vow renewal ceremony?

Such a ceremony is powerful, because both parties are choosing to stand by the promises they made years before.

This Sunday we will continue our Bible in a Year sermon series by looking at Israel’s covenant renewal ceremony in Joshua 24. After Israel has conquered the Promised Land and divided up the tribes, at the end of Joshua’s life, his final call to Israel is to choose to renew her covenantal vows to the LORD.

I look forward to worshiping with you all this Sunday, as we, like Israel, consider choosing to renew our vows to the LORD!

The Storyline of Scripture

The Bible is a story that leads us to Jesus Christ. Even though we are only in the first week of our readings, there have already been significant developments in the storyline of Scripture, including the creation, humanity’s fall into sin, judgment, and the promise of redemption. This Sunday we’ll consider these developments and hope to be in a position to better appreciate the story as a whole. Pastor Josh

To Cut a Covenant

Covenants are counter-intuitive in our society. Traditional marriage vows sound wild to our modern ears. Do couples really mean, “for better or worse, for richer or poor, in joy and in sorrow”?! We live in a culture full of convenient agreements, compared to binding relationships. When peoples’ perceived agreement is broken, or too hard, they often will try and get out of their contract. This Sunday we will continue our Bible in a Year sermon series and study the biblical treasure of a covenant - looking at God’s covenant with Abraham in Genesis 15 & 17.
