What does it mean to be saved? What is salvation?

Salvation is being rescued or saved from our sins. You are saved by trusting in what Christ did for you, not by how good-of-a-person you are or how many good things you do. Christ died for our sins and the Bible says that if you believe that and trust in Christ your sins will be forgiven.

What do we do after we accept Christ? What's next? It is important to learn more about salvation and what it means to be a child of God. When we believe or trust in God, we are adopted into God’s family as His children. We have been created by God and for God, and we have value; even though that value has been marred by sin. Our relationship with God as His children will never change, but our closeness changes when we sin. The Bible says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.” John 1:12 1 John 1:9 John 3:16
