Special Sundays
4/9 The Resurrection Really Happened
April 9, 2023 • Jason Swick • Luke 24, John 20, Matthew 27—28, Mark 16:1–8
As we celebrate this Resurrection Sunday, we consider what really happened almost 2000 years ago in Jerusalem. What are the prominent theories and why only the bodily resurrection of Jesus is viable. Yet it doesn't end there. The greatest evidence for the resurrection of Jesus exists still today, and you can be part of it.
9/4 Orphans & Widows: What can we do?
September 4, 2022 • Jason Swick, Jonathan Prather • James 1:26–27, Deuteronomy 10:12–18, Psalm 68:5, John 14:8, Matthew 10:8
Today we hear about the ministry of Bend Biomedical and how they are working to provide medicine for impoverished children. James tells us that caring for widows and orphans is part of a pure and undefiled religion. Why is this so important? Could it have something to do with the God who loves us?
5/15 Faith Without Works is Dead
May 15, 2022 • Dale Linge • James 2:14–26, Ephesians 2:8–10
Dale Linge from the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort shares how faith must be lived out in order for it to be genuine biblical faith. A practical faith like that of Rahab and Abraham that led to action in life.
4/17 Resurrection Journey
April 17, 2022 • Jason Swick • Ephesians 1:18–20, Luke 24:1–12, Luke 24:36–49
Welcome to Resurrection Sunday (commonly called Easter). Today we wanted to share the story of Jesus and how the disciples move from a place of joy to fear and hopelessness as Jesus is arrested, crucified, and buried. Then on Sunday morning Jesus rose from the dead, changing the world and bringing a message of hope and power. If you have felt hopeless, go with us on this journey with the disciples from hopelessness to hope. Powerless to powerful in Jesus and in following the way of God with all unity and fullness.
