Just like the Israelites who wanted a king who would meet their physical and material needs, we often look to things other than Jesus to satisfy our longings and give us contentment. Satisfaction starts in the soul and works its way out, and that only comes when we make the Lord Jesus Christ our source of happiness and blessing!

There’s a vast difference between knowing about Jesus and believing on Him for salvation. At the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus showed His power over physical death. In our spiritual lives, Jesus shows His power over sin and Satan by making us spiritually alive when we place our trust and faith in Him alone for salvation.
