Grief can be a tough experience to work your way through. Life isn’t easy, but it’s easier with a friend and easier when you realize that God never left you alone.
God comes to us in all kinds of ways and all kinds of people. Sometimes in a friend, sometimes in a stranger, sometimes even in a waitress.

Today we return to the same diner, and we join two more friends as one tries to make sense out of life and hard times. Sometimes we feel like the world is falling apart and that we are all alone, and even God isn’t with us—but as we learn from, of all people, our waitress, that God is with us through it all even if we have lost love, and even if we don’t recognize God.
