What kind of individual does God choose to exemplify faith for us? What does running the race of life and faith look like? In Hebrews 11, we glimpse into the lives of 'the ancients' commended for their faith. These ancient people, recorded with all their imperfections, serve as powerful examples of walking with God in faith. They were not flawless; rather, they were imperfect yet possessed enough faith for God to showcase them as timeless examples. In this year’s summer series, 'By Faith,' we will unpack the lives of these ancients, embracing their flawed realities and explore how their ‘by faith’ moments established a path for our own journey of faith, unlocking the door to a more abundant life.

Building Toward Things Not Yet Seen

Noah is an incredible example of how to live by faith. He built the ark through the direction of God while being warned of things not yet seen. Today we’ll look at the assurance of God’s covenant and faithfulness and how that allows to live our own lives by faith.

Abraham’s life shows us what trusting for direction, by faith, looks like. There’s a lot to unpack in this story and it is one that it can be hard to understand with all the different decisions that Abraham made, but we’re still able to glean much of what it means to live by faith when we trust in God.

How do we live our lives of faith with our day to day moments? Moses is a great example of someone who let God have every moment and got to be a part of God’s plan because of it. You’ll be encouraged by today’s message.

The Testimony of Faith
August 25, 2024 • Thad Huff • Hebrews 11, Joshua 1:7–11, Joshua 2:1–11, James 2:24–26, 1 Corinthians 6:9–11
One of the greatest ways that we live by faith is realizing that we all have a testimony of how we encountered Christ. We can think that we’re not worthy, or don’t have a story, or can’t be used by God, but when we get rid of our excuses and are obedient to his calling, then God is ready to use us to share of us faithfulness in our lives.

All Kinds of Believers
September 1, 2024 • Thad Huff • Daniel 6, Daniel 3, Judges 6, Judges 13, Judges 4
The picture we receive from Hebrews 11 is that God calls and uses all kinds of believers who had moments in their lives of doubt, imperfection and those who remained completely faithful. Today’s message is one that will remind you that no matter the circumstance that you are currently in, now is the moment to step into faith and let God use you.

The World Wasn’t Worthy of Them
September 8, 2024 • Jadon Haynes • Hebrews 11, Deuteronomy 18:14–22, 2 Chronicles 24:19–22, Acts 2, John 3:1–5
What can we learn about living By Faith from a group of people who were chosen by God to announce his word to his people and bring them back to Him when they had strayed… well a lot actually. Today we look at some of the prophets of the Old Testament who were described in Hebrews 11 by the way they lived and the things they had to endure.

Run The Race
September 15, 2024 • Thad Huff • Hebrews 11, Hebrews 12:1–3, Numbers 21:4–9, Romans 15:4, John 3:14–17
In the conclusion of our By Faith series we will look at how each follower of Jesus is called to run the race of faith with perseverance. Of course, we don’t do this in our own power, but by the power of the Holy Spirit that is in each believer. Join us as we look at the example of the witnesses in Hebrews 11, we’ll look inside ourselves, and ultimately we’ll look to Jesus as the author and perfecter of our faith. You’ll be encouraged by the final message in this series.
