Abortion and the Culture of Life

This last week, the Supreme Court of the USA overturned the historic case of Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion across our land in 1973. The question that we must answer is, “What does the Bible teach concerning life, life in the womb, and the issue of abortion?” We cannot afford to miss God’s perspective as revealed in Scripture because it not only gives us a line in the sand but a path to serve our very broken world.

Christianity is all about relationship. We were made for a relationship with God and there is a longing inside every Christian to know Him more and walk with Him closely. If that is true, then how do we draw near to God and stay near? What does it really look like to cultivate a quality relationship with the Lord that goes deeper than any other relationship that we have? In John chapter 15, while Jesus prepared His disciples for His departure, He assured them that their relationship could always be deep and strong. There are many truths and principles that we can draw from this conversation that will also help us as we seek to deepen our friendship with Jesus. The Power of Testimony | Pastor Ben Dixon

From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible is chock-full of testimonies where real people encountered a real God and were completely transformed. Nothing has changed today. God is still doing what He has always done through the power of the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 13:8), and this is why we need to hear and share the testimonies of what God has done. When we hear about what God is doing it fuels our spiritual life and causes us to press into God in greater ways. This weekend, we have the privilege of hearing how God is moving in the lives of people from Northwest Church, and we pray that this will spark something in all of us to believe God for more.
