Fear of the Future • November 4, 2018 • Jon Purkey

The list of fears that people have is nearly unending. There's a fear for everything - from death to dogs, public speaking to peanut butter sandwiches. But one fear underscores all of the other fears, and it is one we all face. It's the fear of the unknown. This Sunday Pastor Jon equips us with what we need to overcome the foundation of all fear. He reminds us that God is truly in control. And he shows us what it takes to keep our fear in check and to trust God with it all.

Where do you to work? Better yet, how do you view your work? Whether it is in a boardroom, classroom, locker room, or family room, work is a crucial part of all of our lives. But work is about more than contributing to the bottom line; it can actually help us discover our God-given purpose. 31 Days of Grace & Favor (Pt.1)

January 1, 2017 • Jon Purkey

We are kicking of 2017 with 31 days of Grace & Favor because we believe that God wants to do the impossible in our lives this year simply because we are covered by His grace and favor. We declare Psalm 27:13 (I remain confident of this: I will see the good of the Lord in the land of the living) over this year and are believing for supernatural blessings for all. Stop being a prisoner of your past, and start being a prisoner of HOPE!

I Will Say

Psalm 91: 1-2: Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. What will you say of the Lord? Psalm 91 is a declaration that the Lord is good, that He is our shelter and will protect us from all storms big and small. He is always with us, and though we may walk in fear, uncertainty, sadness, or any other feeling, we can still progress forward because He is always near. Choose to dwell in the presence of the Lord and not in your current situation. For He is always good and always has your best interest.

31 Days of Grace & Favor (Pt.2)

Galatians 3:11 says: So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” God's grace and favor is not based on your track record and is open to all of us because that's the type of Heavenly Father we have. It is available to us because Jesus was punished for our sins, and God gave you and I the credit. Living a blessed life is received through faith, not our good works. Christianity is not the sacrifice you make, but the sacrifice we trust.

Failure Isn't Fatal

January 11, 2017 • Jon Purkey

We have all experienced times in our lives where we have failed or feel like a failure. The good news? It's not fatal. In fact, the Bible was written for failure, and God wants you to know that even though you may have messed up, it isn't over. Our God is a God of endless chances, and He is always there to help you get back up and move forward. Don't waste your failures by not learning from them. Listen to God and He will get you back on the right path.

People who don't like you will never approve of anything you do or say no matter what. Do like Paul and Barnabas did and shake the dust off your feet and move on. There's a group of people out there who will be grateful for you and celebrate you instead of ridicule you.

The Playfulness of God

January 18, 2017 • Jon Purkey

Psalm 126: 1-2 says: When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations,“The Lord has done great things for them.” Laughter is a gift from God that so many people have forgotten about. If we are created in the image of God, and we laugh, then don't you think our Heavenly Father must have a sense of humor? Since the bible says that laughter is the best medicine (Psalm 17:22), then why is it often frowned upon in the church?
