Sermon Title: “Joshua, The Commander” (Pastor Bob)
Sermon Text: Joshua 1:10-18
Summary:
Joshua knew God had called him to lead the people into victory over the inhabitants of Canaan. Christians receive their calling in different ways. How can you know your calling is from the Lord? It must always be tested through letting the Scriptures control your thoughts and feelings, letting them alone evaluate circumstances and the advice received from others. Yet even this is not enough if we do not have what Joshua had. What is that? Faith in God! If we truly believe the Lord is our helper and will never leave or forsake us, then we are not afraid of what others can do to us. This is why people followed Joshua and said to him, “Whoever rebels against your commandment and disobeys your words, whatever you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and courageous."
