The Chosen One

1 Samuel 16

God's chosen King was "a man after his own heart". In 1 Samuel 16, God takes David from the sheep pastures and anoints him as King over Israel because he was this man. Ultimately, David's anointing as King points us to Jesus Christ, the "Messiah" or "Anointed One".
